Caves
The Venado Caves, roughly 45 minutes from La Fortuna near Ciudad Quesada, a wet limestone system explored by headlamp and wading through shallow underground streams. Stalactites, bats and the occasional blind fish share the passages, and guides require closed shoes and a change of clothes afterward.
