Volcano hikes
Trails through Arenal Volcano National Park, including the 1968 Trail across solidified lava flows from that year's eruption and the older 1992 flow. Arenal has been dormant since 2010, so there's no lava to see, but the cone appears and vanishes with the cloud cover, and Cerro Chato has been closed to hikers since 2018 after safety concerns.
